Look, I’m sure I can’t be the only one who struggles to keep you all updated on the goings-on of my photography life, right? Like, the struggle is REAL when it comes to sitting down and focusing up to write a blog or two. I mean, here I am editing, and editing, and editing because wedding season is upon us, but how does one simply find time to blog, and blog meaningfully? Well, my friends, the day has finally come. I reached a half-way point of all my editing work, and decided I will wait no longer to blog! I know what you’re thinking… It’s about dang time! 😉
Featured today on my blog, I’m giving you a more in depth look at the Spring family vacation we took to Destin (and surrounding areas,) Florida! I had the most AMAZING, relaxing five days one could have in-between photographing weddings. This was my first time in Florida, and I’ve already let my hubs know it wouldn’t be my last. I spent a lot of time dipping my toes into the white sands, sketching the scenery around me, listening to the ocean waves and trying my best to not get burnt by the sun. SPF 50 was my friend. Haha! We spent this time with my husband’s family, and ate of all the seafood we could, and laughed hysterically playing “Heads up!” It was such an amazing bonding time, and I miss it still. On our last day, we traveled out to Fort Walton Beach area and walked out to a couple state parks where we witnessed parasailing for the first time. We then spent the afternoon looking through antique stores (my favorite past-time) all the while I photographed along the way.
Seeing new places, near or far, brings an immense joy to my heart and traveling to Florida, even for just a few short days, was a great experience that I won’t soon forget. There’s a Switchfoot song that says “Life is short, I wanna live it well” and that’s my mantra for the summer. I have one life, one story to tell and I want to see and do as much as I am able to, and share these experiences with those I love along the way.
