About two weeks ago, Alexis called me inquiring about my Fall family sessions and asking if I still had availability. I’m so glad I did! This family of three were so sweet to work with. During our photo conversation we had discussed locations and the overall look she would want for her photos. Alexis opted for an urban look which always makes my heart happy. We met on quite the chilly Sunday afternoon to knock out this session at the always pretty Winspear Opera House in Dallas, TX. I love this location not just for the simplicity it gives, but also for it’s modern and urban architecture.

Some of you may know this, but prior to becoming a full-time photographer, my “day job” as they call it, was a pre-school teacher. I’ve found this to be a huge plus when I work with kids! Every now and then, there’s a kiddo who is pretty shy to my camera and it can be hard to break the ice with them. Elijah was one those kids during our session. After awhile, he opened up with smiles and laughs! Typically, when my clients kids aren’t up for the session, I’ll candidly document them, and create a lifestyle family session. Life isn’t always perfect.
