You’ve probably got to know me labeled as a wedding and portrait photographer, but did you know that I’m a photographer in the whole sense of the word? I’m an artist with a camera, documenting people, moments and places as they are, and as they happen. I photograph more than what you initially see. 😉
My dear friend Jessica contacted me about planning a day to photograph some head-shots of her for her website she is planning to launch, which of course I agreed! We met over coffee (typical me, Ha!) at Sons of Liberty in downtown Fort Worth, and sipped some delicious lattes and tea as we chatted about the kind of photos she was wanting, and just caught up with each other. We started our morning shooting inside the coffee shop, which is an amazingly well lit space, and finished by moving across the street to one of my favorite buildings in downtown, the old post office building.
I met Jessica at one of Fort Worth Camera‘s portrait photography workshops last year, during their Fort Worth Foto Fest. We started chatting, and eventually made plans to meet at a local coffee shop and get to know one another. Since that first meeting, we’ve had several lunch and coffee dates! I remember her asking if she could ‘pick my brain’ about photography, which I was totally down for! I figure I’m able to answer a few question about my favorite art form, and be a mentor of sorts to those I know. Jessica, while loving photography, found design and fell in love with it. It’s been so neat seeing the work she has created through college courses and seeing this new found passion of her own, take off!
Jess, thanks for giving me the opportunity to document you and I cannot wait to see all that you will create!
Jessica
